Check out the iplug Rewards Scheme

Isn't it great when someone gives you something for doing something you would probably have done anyway?

Like getting a chocolate bar for emptying the dishwasher, or a lollipop for returning the supermarket trolley to the cage. You would have done it without the reward, but the reward is still welcome, right?

The thing is, iplug wants you to Plug the businesses that you use!

And we're prepared to give you something in return for doing this little thing for us (and all New Zealanders!)

Earning Points

Earning Plug Points is EASY and COSTS NOTHING!

You must be registered as a Plugger with iplug in order to begin collecting Plug Points.

Registration is FREE, carries No Obligations or implied undertakings and...

...you do not have to purchase anything in order to earn Plug Points!

You get ONE PLUG POINT for every Plug that you make

Spend a few minutes at the computer each day or each week (or each month!) and perform a community service (Plug a good business or three), and you earn Plug Points. Easy.

There is no limit to the amount of Plug Points you earn – except common sense. You can only Plug businesses that you have personally used, so Plugging fifty businesses a day is hard to believe, and could be challenged.

The value of Plug Points

iplug Plug Points are not so tiny that you have to collect for ten years to buy a nice pair of socks. In fact, we believe they are the MOST VALUABLE Points of any scheme currently operating in New Zealand.

In the main, Plug Points will have a retail equivalent value of between 25 cents and $1.00, sometimes more. That means that if a Plugger makes an average of 10 Plugs a week, in less than a year they could score for themselves an iPod Touch.

In general shop items will be worth the retail equivalent of between 70 cents and $1.00
Schools and charities can redeem Plug Points for 50 cents each
Pluggers can redeem 100 Plug Points for $25 (25 cents each)

Gifting Points

iplug Plug Points are unique in that they are TRANSFERABLE. That means you can GIFT your Plug Points to any other Plugger.
Or you can request Plug Points from your family and friends.

If a Plugger only needs another 50 Plug Points to get an iPod Nano, she can ask her friends – perhaps through a social network – and 10 friends could possibly spare 5 Plug Points each
Two parents, a grandparent and a couple of uncles all Plugging together can GIFT their Plug Points to a deserving child for their birthday
Workplace social clubs can pool their resources in order to score a new coffee maker

But there's more to it than that...

Charities and Schools

Pluggers can also GIFT their Plug Points to their children's school or a charity of their choice.

Schools and charities can sign up with iplug and ask their supporters for Plug Points
It doesn't cost anything to join the scheme
You are not asking your supporters for money, just a few Plug Points that can be easily earned in a few minutes – but it all adds up!
Schools and charities can redeem Plug Points for CASH at 50 cents a Point

As a supporter of your local school or a number of charities you can be giving vital $$ without affecting your own bank balance. Even topical charities such as Haiti or Hurricane Katrina can be supported through Pluggers Plugging businesses in New Zealand.

How great is that?

iplug Shop

Once you have amassed some Plug Points, you can go to the iplug Shop and get STUFF. This ranges from small items and iplug merchandise to mid-priced electronics, MP3 players etc. and a few wishlist targets.

In the beginning the range will be small, but realistically it should take some time before even the most enthusiastic Pluggers can grow a Plug Points tally big enough for some of the more exotic STUFF.

And iplug will be adding to the Shop all the time.

In fact, if you – as a Plugger – can think of something that should or could be offered in the Shop, we encourage you to contact us. Likewise, if you have a product that you think would be ideal for our shop, get in touch. Contact us here
